Chinese Speech Competition Winners

Three students placed in the Chinese Bridge Contest and North Texas Speech Contest at UTD.

Chinese Bridge Contest
comprises three parts: a Chinese speech, a talent show and a written test (questions including Chinese politics, history, geography and culture). It is the most rigorous and difficult international Chinese language competition.

Please join me in congratulating Claire Marucci for beating 24 students and winning the third place. Please enjoy her Chinese violin “Erhu” performance. It usually takes four years to learn this instrument, but with her strong violin background Claire perfected it in only three months. Her dedication and preparation for this competition truly represent Hockaday.

The North Texas Speech Contest is also a fierce speech competition. Many participants are from the various high schools in DFW area. Please join me again in applauding these girls.
