Hockaday @BVU

Hockaday blew away the field at the MS BVU Invitational Meet at St Marks on Friday with a 1st place finished overall. It was a beautiful day and evening for a track meet, and Hockaday girls took advantage of that.  Everyone competed, tried their best, and we had outstanding results.  In our field events, we started the meet with 1st, 2nd, and 4th place finish in the Long Jump (Avery Jackson, Maia Hartley, and Addison London).  Then Maia ran over to the Shot Put and grabbed a 3rd place finish there!  The first running event was the mile, and Caroline Petrikas got 4th and Susu Campbell came in 8th.  We all had a long break at that point before they started the running events again at 4:30p.  Our 4x100 relay team (Maia Hartley, Zariah Arrington, Bronwynn Blair, and Jaden Thomas) was up next and they won the event by a long shot.  Then Caroline Petrikas came back in the 800M to grab a 3rd place finish, while Susu Campbell got 5th.  Our twins, Addison and Riley London competed well in the 100 Hurdles by placing 4th and 7th respectively.  In the 100M, Jaden Thomas got 3rd and Maia Hartley (rested from the LJ and Shot Put) got 4th.  We had outstanding finishes and efforts in the 400M with a 3rd, 4th, and 5th place finish by Zariah Arrington, Avery Jackson, and Brie Johnson.  Lola Isom was able to hurdle to a 2nd place finish in the 300M hurdles.  We also had 3 strong finishes in the 200M.  Ambyr Baker finished in 5th, while Jaden Thomas grabbed 6th and Bronwynn Blair came in 8th.  Finally, the finale, our 4x400M team made up of Brie Johnson, Zariah Arrington, Lola Isom, and Bronwynn Blair, finished well ahead of the field in FIRST place!!!  Hockaday held the first place position as a team the entire meet.  We are all very proud of the girls efforts today, and of course so happy with a first place team finish!
