Track &Field MS @Parish

Hockaday MS Track and Field team traveled to Parish on Thursday for their last meet before the League Championships start next week.  We had another beautiful afternoon to run, and some of the girls ran their best times for the season.  We started the meet with field events, and Ambyr Baker came out ahead in both the High Jump and the Discus.  She was our highest jumper with a 4’6” jump to place her in 3rd place overall.  Then she literally had to run over to the discus and was the last competitor in that event.  She ended up throwing a 57’5 ½ “ throw to get a 5th place finish overall.  Maria Solis, Lana Lewis, and Viviana Armendariz also threw some personal best throws today.  We had a great start in the running events with the 1600M run up first.  Caroline Petrikas came in 1st (5:52.04) and Susu Campbell got 2nd (6:10.50).  London Rhodus ran a PR of 6:51.43.  Our 4x100 relay team of Maia Hartley, Jaden Thomas, Laura Taylor, and Zariah Arrington ran way ahead of the field and won with a season best of 52.25!  We also had three season best times in the 300M Hurdles with Addison London (55.85), Lola Isom (56.35), and Stella Kozielec (58:15)!  We had six girls go under 30 seconds in the 200M: Zariah Arrington (26.71)!!!, Jaden Thomas (28.21), Avery Jackson (28.64), Ryan Brown (29.22), Laura Taylor (29.30), and Maia Hartley (29.58).  Ellie Browne was our top runner in the 800M, and Yanet Bisrat and Lily McKenna both had personal best times in that event.  Finally, our 4x400 relay team (Brie Johnson, Zariah Arrington, Lola Isom, and Addison London) ran away with the race and won the final event of the night. It was a great meet to end our regular season.  The girls are already gearing up for the first of the League Championship meets on Tuesday.  They should be ready for a great showing there.
