Track & Field MS PLaid @ Day 1 Championship

Hockaday MS Girls traveled Tuesday to Greenhill to run in the first of the two League Championship meets.  This meet included all the schools we have been running against all  season.  There were nine schools present including Greenhill, ESD, Prince of Peace, Shelton, Prestonwood, Parish, Dallas Christian, and Good Shepherd.  We started out with our field events and Avery Jackson secured a 2nd place finish with a jump of 14’6”.  Maia Hartley and Laura Taylor also scored points for us with at 5th and 8th place respectively.  Maia then ran over to the shot put as our only competitor in that event and ended up with a 3rd place finish!  With field events finished, we started the running events with a 1st place finish in the 4x800 relay.  Our team made up of Brie Johnson, Landry Parteli, Susu Campbell, and Caroline Petrikas finished well ahead of the other teams.  Moving on to the 100M Hurdles, Addison London had an impressive 2nd place finish with a time of 18.93.  Lola Isom and Riley London also scored 7th and 8th to earn points for the team.  Zariah Arrington ran a speedy 13.16 in the 100M run to grab 3rd place.  Jaden Thomas and Maia Hartley also scored for the team with 6th and 7th places.  Caroline Petrikas was our only competitor in the 3200M run and she was able to grab 4th place.  In the 400M run, Zariah Arrington ran another fast time to get 2nd place with a time of 1:03.69!  Avery Jackson also got 7th place to score for the team.  In the final race of the night, it was a close finish, but our team of Ambyr Baker, Avery Jackson, Jaden Thomas, and Zariah Arrington came in a close 2nd.   After all this hard work, the Hockaday Girls are in 1st place and well ahead of the other teams!  We will be traveling back to Greenhill next Thursday for Part 2, and hopefully will keep our lead to win the Championship!
