Hockaday @ Greenhill League Championship

The Hockaday MS Track and Field team just won the League Championship meet in high fashion!  This was their last meet of the season, and they really fought hard to win.  The meet started with many field events going on at one time.  Avery Jackson jumped a height of 4’6” to place 5th in the High Jump.  She then went over to the Triple Jump and jumped 30’9 ¾ “ to outdo the field and win a gold medal!  Addison London came in 4th and Maia Hartley 7th in the same event.  Addison London then ran over to the Pole Vault to win that event.  Her sister, Riley, came in 2nd, and MC Murray took 8th in the Pole Vault.  Ambyr Baker did the High Jump, and then had to run over to the Discus to throw 66’1” and place 2nd!  We had won so many points in the field events before we even started the running events!  The running events started with the 800M and Caroline Petrikas took 3rd and SuSu Campbell got 6th in that event.  Then our 4x100 relay team of Maia Hartley, Jaden Thomas, Laura Taylor, and Zariah Arrington came away with the gold medal!  We then gained more points in the 300M Hurdles. Addison London literally ran from winning the Pole Vault to the starting line of the 300M Hurdles, and ended up placing 5th.  Right behind her was Lola Isom with 6th place and then Stella Kozielec ended her season with a PR and an 8th place finish!  We had a gold medal performance in the open 200M with Zariah Arrington racing to win the entire event with a loaded field of very fast sprinters! Jaden Thomas also ran well with 6th place and Avery Jackson finished 8th.  In the 1600M run, Caroline Petrikas had an exciting finish to win the event, and Susu Campbell came in 7th.  In the final event of the meet and season, our girls did not disappoint!  The 4x400 relay team of Avery Jackson, Zariah Arrington, Lola Isom and Jaden Thomas finished the meet with a stellar gold medal performance.  They finished well ahead of the rest of the field.  In the end, Hockaday finished well ahead of all the other teams to win the League Championship!  Way to go Hockaday and what a great way to finish the season!
