19 Students Named National Merit Semifinalists

The Hockaday School proudly recognizes 19 students who will advance as semifinalists in the 71st annual National Merit Scholarship Program, a national academic competition for recognition and scholarship that began in 1955.
 
 
Hockaday semifinalists include Kaitlyn Chen, Kristy Chen, Gray Damonte, Sasha Kitson, Sara Kocurek, Anjali Konda, Callie Li, Celina Li, Jiajia Li, Isabella Luo, Sharika Mandyam, Isla McKenna, Emily McLeroy, Chloe Oeschger, Ava Ortega, Annie Pendleton, Eliza Stone, Anya Tewari, and Iris Zhang.
 
These girls were chosen from approximately 1.3 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools by taking the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
