Students Partner With Reading Nonprofit

As part of the Leadership and Literature English IV Senior Seminar course, Hockaday students partnered with Catch Up & Read to help share stories about the program.
Catch Up & Read is a literacy intervention program in DFW that helps prepare students for the switch in third grade from learning to read to reading to learn. This semester, students interviewed teachers and students at Nathan Adams and Caillet Elementary School. Based on these interviews, Hockaday students will write narratives about their interview subjects to showcase the impact of the program and the importance of literacy. Catch Up & Read will use these narratives in their blog, on social media, and in investor updates.
