Fall Hockaday Garden Workdays

Please join us at the upcoming Fall Hockaday Garden Workdays! Workdays will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 am on Saturday, September 12, and Saturday, September 19. We will be clearing and stringing beds to prepare for fall classes, weeding, and spreading a mountain of wood chips to help minimize muddy spots. We would appreciate any time you can spare! Workdays are come-and-go events. Come when you can and leave when you must. Children must have a supervising adult with them. Siblings are welcome to attend. Don't forget your water bottle, sunscreen, and garden-appropriate attire. If rain threatens, please call the Hockaday switchboard by 8 a.m. to see if we will meet. Questions? Contact Lara Guerra at lguerra@hockaday.org.

Plastic Potting Pots Needed
The Hockaday Garden wants any plastic planting pots that might otherwise be destined for the trash. If you like to garden or have had landscaping done in your yard, then you probably have a stack of black plastic pots hanging around cluttering the garage. We would appreciate any size pot from 4" up to shrub- or tree-sized pots. Please send these to school, and we will put them to good use! Please ask your daughter to give donated pots to Ms. Guerra in Science, Room 11. Questions? Contact Lara Guerra at lguerra@hockaday.org.
