Students Present Summer Research

Four members of the Class of 2026, Nadia G., Ai-Vy H., Sara K., and Anjali K, recently presented to the Board of Trustees’ Education and Student Life Committee, sharing insights from their summer research experiences and the impact of Hockaday’s longstanding Summer Research Program for Students.

What began in 2007 with one rising senior in a UT Southwestern lab has grown into a robust network of partnerships with UT Southwestern, SMU, Scottish Rite Hospital, and UTD—opening doors for Hockaday students to engage in high-level scientific investigation during the summer between junior and senior year.
Designed to encourage students with a love of science to pursue STEM fields, the program places first-time researchers in modern biomedical labs and asks them to return as emissaries, sharing their work and discoveries with our community. We’re proud of these seniors for their curiosity, leadership, and thoughtful presentations.
