Biology Class Presents at Shark Tank

At this year’s Biology, Impact, and the Zoo Shark Tank, our students proved that science and purpose are a powerful combination.

Congrats to all four teams who pitched incredible ideas: Daisy’s Daycare, Rebound, Verity, and our winners, the creators of Pantriiq, a student-designed app tackling household food waste.

Thank you to our judges:
Alden Pinnell, Co-Founder, Skin
ceuticals
Luke McLeroy, Adjunct Professor, SMU Dedman School of Law and Managing Member, LFM Firm, PLLC
Priya Patel ’04, Founder, FeminologyMD
Stephanie Allard, EVP and Chief Mission Officer, Dallas Zoo

Biology, Impact, and the Zoo is an Upper School Social Impact Science class, where students collaborate and apply design thinking to solve environmental issues in partnership with experts from the Dallas Zoo.
At the end of the year, they produce a culminating pitch to area industry leaders in a “shark tank” setting that addresses an identified environmental problem and competes for funding.
