• Complete the Online Application

  The online application and the $50 application fee, along with the Parent Statement and a copy of your daughter's birth certificate must be submitted by December 12, 2022. The full application (including testing, teacher evaluation, and parent interview) must be scheduled or completed by January 27, 2023.

• Schedule Admission Testing

  CATS ASSESSMENT:

  This is a cognitive abilities assessment that is administered individually by Collaborative Academic Testing Services (CATS). You may register your child at www.catstexas.com. Test results may be shared with other schools where the student is applying. There is $300* registration fee. 

   

  PK-K OBSERVATION: Once your daughter’s application is submitted, please schedule (in the parent portal) a Developmental Age Observation. This observation will take place in person at The Hockaday School on a Saturday between December – February. This observation has both a group and a one-on-one component.

• Register for a Parent Interview

  If your child has not previously applied to Hockaday, please schedule a parent interview in the parent portal by January 27, 2023.

• Submit School Records Form to your Daughter's Registrar

  After you have submitted the online application, please locate the School Records Release Form in the parent portal checklist and click on 'Edit this Request'. You will have the opportunity to enter the email address of the school administrator who is responsible for grades, school records, or progress reports at your daughter’s current school. This will allow the school to upload your daughter‘s school records directly to the student application file. Note: if your child is applying to prekindergarten or kindergarten and the school does not issue school records, the form will allow the official to indicate that. This checklist item will be marked complete once the records have been received by Hockaday.  The deadline for the receipt of your child’s school records (Fall 2022, 2021-2022, and 2020-2021), if available, is January 27, 2023.

• Return Teacher Evaluations by January 27, 2023

  Please provide your daughter's current teacher's name and email address on the Teacher Information Form on the online application. Hockaday will use this information to send an online confidential Teacher Evaluation to your daughter's current teacher. Teacher Evaluations should be received by January 27, 2023.

• Admission Decision

  Admission decision notifications will be emailed on March 10, 2023, to all applicants who have completed their applications by January 27, 2023.
