Hockaday Wins Third Straight Lacrosse State Title

Hockaday completed its first-ever unbeaten season (22-0) with an 18-8 victory over Austin St. Michael’s on May 14 in the Division I state championship.
It’s the third straight title for the team. Grace Hoverman (Class of 2023), a Columbia signee, had six goals, while Charlotte Schultz and sophomore Mae Flanagan contributed four and three goals.

“Just a tremendous win,” Hockaday Head Coach Molly Ford Hutchinson told the Dallas Morning News. “That was a scrappy team we played. We got our offense going, and our defense again was tremendous, as it has been all season.”

This historical season has been dominated by the Daisies, who won every match by at least five goals, and 17 of its 22 wins were by double digits, including the last 12.

This was the sixth state championship for Hockaday, winning it all in 2012, 2009 and 2008 in
addition to this three-peat.
