Libraries

The Hockaday libraries are located In the heart of the campus—in the Liza Lee Academic Research Center (LLARC). This breathtaking building contains the Lower/Middle School Library, the Upper School Library, computer labs, the Hockaday archives, audiovisual production rooms, the School bookstore and the newspaper and yearbook offices. The Liza Lee Academic Research Center is truly the activity hub of the School.

Jointly, the libraries have a collection of more than 64,000 holdings, which includes books, periodicals, videos, CDs, and other audiovisual materials. The libraries create an inviting and comfortable environment to engage in research, work on assignments and pursue personal interests. Library study spaces include individual study carrels, study rooms, cozy window seats and seminar rooms. A storytelling area and a fascinating 350-gallon aquarium are favorite spots in the Lower/Middle School Library.

Library staff is always available to help students find books, research a topic, or provide suggestions on a great weekend read.
