Visiting Hockaday

We are delighted that you are interested in The Hockaday School! We encourage you to visit in order to get a feel for the campus and to meet our faculty and students. We offer a variety of ways for a prospective family to spend time at Hockaday. Whether it is for an official visit, a game, a performing arts event or a debate tournament, we hope that you will spend time on our campus.

  • Admission Previews

    Preview Day is a great time for the whole family to visit Hockaday, ask specific questions, and learn more about the Hockaday experience.  We hope you can share part of a Sunday afternoon with our girls and our faculty.  You will have the opportunity to:
    • Speak one-on-one with faculty and coaches
    • Speak with current students
    • Tour the school with current students
    • Attend engaging and interactive breakout sessions
    • Visit with current parents

    Lower School Registration begins at 12:45 p.m. and the Program begins at 1:00 p.m.
    Middle/Upper School Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. and the Program begins at 2:00 p.m.
  • Boarding Applicant Overnight Visit and Boarding Family Visits

    Overnight Boarder Visit Sunday, Dec. 4 - Monday, Dec. 5
    Registration will begin at 1:45 p.m. for our Sunday, Dec. 4 afternoon Admission Preview.  Please enter and park on Forest Lane. Following the Admission Preview program, families staying on campus for our Boarder Visit will have opportunity to hear from our Residential Life staff and boarding students.  Your daughter will also have the opportunity to remain on campus overnight with a student hostess.  Monday, December 5 will be filled with various programs and activities for parents while students visit classes for the day. Both parent and student interviews will be conducted at various times throughout the day on Monday, and your visit will conclude no later than 4:00 p.m.  When you arrive, you will be given a personal schedule for the two day visit.   

    Overnight Boarder Visit Thursday, Jan. 19 - Friday, Jan. 20 
    On Thursday evening we will have a family dinner followed by a program and students will spend the night in the Boarding Department. Friday, January 20, will be filled with various programs and activities for parents while students visit classes for the day. Both parent and student interviews will be conducted at various times throughout the day on Friday, and your visit will conclude no later than 4:00 p.m. When you arrive, you will be given a personal schedule for the two day visit.
    Hockaday will also be hosting a the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) on Saturday, January 21. If you would like for your daughter to test at this time, please visit www.iseetest.org to register.
  • Parent Visits

    If you are interested in applying for your daughter to attend Hockaday for the 2017-2018 school year, please join us at one of our Parent Visits this fall.  Parent Visits include comments and Q & A with the Head of School, the head of the Division, the Director of Admission, and current students, as well as time in the classrooms.  An optional campus tour is available at the end of the visit.  Please see specific dates and make a reservation on our Register for Events page or contact our office at 214.360.6524.
  • Student Visits

    If your daughter is currently in 4th-10th grade, has applied to Hockaday for teh 2017-2018 school year, and has not yet visited classes, we would be happy to arrange a student visit for her this fall or winter.  Please register on our Schedule a Student Visit page or call our office at 214.360.6524.  
  • Campus Tours

    In addition to offering tours after each Parent Visit and during Admission Previews, our current students enjoy giving regularly scheduled campus tours.  To view specific dates and RSVP please visit our Register for Events page.
  • Inclusion and Community Event

    We invite prospective families to join us to learn more about diversity and inclusion at Hockaday. At this event, our Director of Inclusion and Community along with a panel of current students and parents will answer your questions about life at Hockaday. Following the panel, we hope you will stay and continue informal conversations during a casual reception. We will gather from 2:00p.m. - 3:30p.m. on Sunday, November 13th. Please RSVP on our Register for Events page or contact our office at 214.360.6524.
  • Financial Aid Information Night

    Do you have questions about Hockaday's Financial Aid process and philosophy?  Our information night is open to all interested parents.  Please join us Monday, December 12, 2016 from 6:00-7:00 pm.  Please RSVP by visiting our Register for Events page or contacting our office at 214.360.6524.
