Visiting Hockaday

We are delighted that you are interested in The Hockaday School! We encourage you to visit in order to get a feel for the campus and to meet our faculty and students. We offer a variety of ways for a prospective family to spend time at Hockaday. Whether it is for an official visit, a game, a performing arts event or a debate tournament, we hope that you will spend time on our campus.

  • Boarding Applicant Overnight Visit and Boarding Family Visits

    Overnight Boarder Visit Sunday, October 22 - Monday, October 23
    Registration will begin at 1:45 p.m. for our Sunday, Oct. 22 afternoon Admission Preview.  Please enter and park on Forest Lane. Following the Admission Preview program, families staying on campus for our Boarder Visit will have opportunity to hear from our Residential Life staff and boarding students.  Your daughter will also have the opportunity to remain on campus overnight with a student hostess. Monday, October 23 will be filled with various programs and activities for parents while students visit classes for the day. Both parent and student interviews will be conducted at various times throughout the day on Monday, and your visit will conclude no later than 4:00 p.m.  When you arrive, you will be given a personal schedule for the two day visit.   

    Overnight Boarder Visit Thursday, Jan. 18 - Friday, Jan. 19
    On Thursday evening we will have a family dinner followed by a program and students will spend the night in the Boarding Department. Friday, January 19, will be filled with various programs and activities for parents while students visit classes for the day. Both parent and student interviews will be conducted at various times throughout the day on Friday, and your visit will conclude no later than 4:00 p.m. When you arrive, you will be given a personal schedule for the two day visit.
    Hockaday will also be hosting a the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) on Saturday, January 20. If you would like for your daughter to test at this time, please visit www.iseetest.org to register.
  • MS and US Admission Preview

    Preview Day is a great time for the whole family to visit Hockaday, ask specific questions, and learn more about the Hockaday experience.  We hope you can share part of a Sunday afternoon with our girls and our faculty.  You will have the opportunity to:
    • Speak one-on-one with faculty and coaches
    • Speak with current students
    • Tour the school with current students
    • Attend engaging and interactive breakout sessions
    • Visit with current parents

    Middle/Upper School Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. and the Program begins at 2:00 p.m.
  • Parent Visits

    We host several Parent Visits during the school year to give you a chance to experience our distinctive program first hand, during the school day.  You will meet our talented faculty members and students, learn about our challenging, thoughtful curriculum, hear about the many opportunities outside of the classroom, see our state-of-the-art facilities, and experience the strong sense of community that sets us apart.   • Student Visits

    If your daughter is currently in 4th-10th grade, has applied to Hockaday for the 2018-2019 school year, and has not yet visited classes, we would be happy to arrange a student visit for her this fall or winter.  Please register on our Schedule a Student Visit page or call our office at 214.360.6524.
  • Campus Tours

    We are happy to invite parents and students to Hockaday for a campus tour and the opportunity to speak with someone in the Admission Office. Our tours are scheduled bi-weekly throughout the fall and winter. You’ll be greeted by a member of the Admission Team and then taken on a tour with one of our student ambassadors.

  • Inclusion and Community Event

    We invite prospective families to join us to learn more about diversity and inclusion at Hockaday. At this event, our Director of Inclusion and Community along with a panel of current students and parents will answer your questions about life at Hockaday. Following the panel, we hope you will stay and continue informal conversations during a casual reception.   • Financial Aid Information Night

    The Hockaday School is committed to providing an exceptional education to talented, motivated girls regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.  We recognize the challenge of affording a private school. While the primary responsibility for funding the cost of education resides with the family, we understand the need for financial assistance for many families.  All financial aid at Hockaday is awarded in the form of a tuition grant.  Detailed information regarding the financial aid process and our School’s philosophy of awarding aid will be provided during the presentation.  Please join us Monday, December 11, 2017 from 6:00-7:00 pm.  Please RSVP by visiting our Register for Events page or contacting our office at 214.360.6524.
