Hockaday’s Inaugural Signing Day a Success

On Tuesday, March 3, 2015 members of the Hockaday community gathered in Clements to be a part of the inaugural spring Signing Day. Hockaday seniors Mackenzie Capetillo, Samantha Toomey, Jessica Savage, Mimi Asom, Charlsea Lamb, and Maura McCrary all received athletic scholarships to impressive colleges and universities across the country. The girls’ coaches, family and friends joined them for a celebration as they signed contracts, committing to play for their respective school in the fall of 2015.

Mackenzie Capetillo came to Hockaday in Form I, and played Varsity Volleyball for four years. Mackenzie was named All-SPC, and will play for Rhodes College in the fall.

Samantha Toomey also came to Hockaday in Form I, and played Varsity Volleyball for four years. Sam was named All-SPC, and will play for Carnegie Mellon in the fall. 

Jessica Savage started in Pre-K at Hockaday. Jess played Varsity Basketbal for four years and was named All-SPC. She will play for Colorado College in the fall.

Mimi Asom came to Hockaday in Form I, and played Varisty Soccer for four years. She was also named All-SPC, and plans to play at Princeton in the fall.
  
Charlsea Lamb came to Hockaday in the fifth grade. After playing on the Varsity Tennis Team for two years, she switched to Track & Field. Charlsea signed with Rice University on March 3, and is excited to compete on te track team at Rice in the fall.   
  
Maura McCrary came to Hockaday in the seventh grade. She played Varsity Tennis for four years, and was named All-SPC. Maura will play at Sewanee College in the fall.
